Notes for How to ACE Your Next UX Job Interview
1. Be Humble and honest about what you don’t know, but say that you will learn it, rather than trying to make up stuff
- Don’t try to answer questions even though you have know idea what you are talking about
- Understand why you made this design decisions
- I really want to work here, I am a hard worker and very faster learner. But I actually don’t know why. That’s why I wanna work here
2. Research the company
- Write a unique motivation letter specific for that company
- Addresses the job posting they made
- How I can add value and what you need things I can bring that make you stand out from other people applying for the job
- Know their product, provide suggestion to improve them
3. Do something special/extra
4. Keep yourself up-to-date with Google and Apple design guideline
5. Explain your design process in your portfolio
- How well you solve about the problem
- How big the challenge it was
- What you were able to design in a certain among of time
- Need to give the context that everything happens
- Reach and useful
6. Practice with someone before interview
- Very harsh
- Prepare the worst scenarios
7. Learn how to give and take feedback
- Say what you really think
- Also let other people say what they really think to you
8. Work your career outside the standard 9 to 5
9. Don’t be arrogant
- Listen to people that you don’t like
- Learn more from other people
10. Teach yourself discipline / specialization
